Per merchant notices, North (American Bancard) raised rates — again. Monthly-discount merchants got hit Oct 1: +0.25% on tiered pricing, +0.03–0.15% on interchange-plus, plus five new fees — including a $249 annual regulatory fee, up from $169 two years ago. Daily-discount merchants get the same increase Nov 1. And merchants hit in April AND October got two raises in six months. Most of the big processors raised rates this year. I pulled the receipts.

Every documented rate, fee, and software increase from Toast, Shift4, Global Payments, Heartland, and Fiserv over the last 12 months — with dates and sources. Global was the worst: base rate up as much as 2.25% (that's $6,750 a year on $25k a month) plus over $1,000 a year in new annual fees.
