During Pumpkins on the Square, the 3rd annual chili cook-off was held featuring local restaurants. Summer Love representing the Rabbit Hole won the Judges Choice Award for best chili. Ms. Linda's took home the People's Choice Award. These two will be looking forward to another opportunity to have a friendly face-off! Come support Elbas local businesses. We all need your business in order to stay afloat during these economic times while we see prices for food continuing to climb. I know at Ms. Linda's it is a struggle to maintain our current menu prices and we do what we do to give the people an opportunity to eat local if they so choose. We don't rely on out-of-towner's (but we do love to see those folks as well) to keep us going- we rely on locals. We are blessed for sure and we hope to be a blessing to others as we pass along God's grace and mercy! Thank you to all who came out and tasted the chili's and voted. A special thanks to our panel of judges Lisa Johnson, Gappa Wise and Andy Pugh. You all did a great job and believe me they tasted alot before they decided so it was serious for them!

Good morning friends and family. It's really a blessing that I can come to you and say we will be OPEN today! I can honestly say I am so ready to be back at work and that although still regaining my strength, I am 90% better. Thank you for your texts and calls! Our buffet today:

While I am able I just want to personally thank all of you for taking time out of your day to wish me a happy birthday. It made my heart feel good. I wish it would have made my body feel good. I will try to make this short. Last Thursday I broke out with shingles on the right side of my face. I thought ok. I can handle this. Along with an antiviral oral medication and ointment came fever, chills, general weakness and pain at the site. After taking the medicine since Friday I thought I was getting better until yesterday morning around 3:00 a.m. I was awakened with some of the worst stomach cramps I have ever experienced. I struggled to make it to the bathroom as my vision was doubled and I couldn't walk straight. I stayed in the bathroom a solid straight 45 minutes going from sitting and doing business to standing and throwing up every time I did. Come to find out that I was experiencing a very rare side effect from the medicine and the shingles are still there. Instead of it attacking the viral cells and killing them it was helping them along. Only me! This is why I was not open yesterday and I won't be open today. I have terrible brain fog and can't remember anything and I just don't feel like I am in my own body. My face is experiencing total numbness on the right side where the shingles are and besides that, doctor says no to work right now. Please pray for healing if it be God's will. I miss my customers and I miss being open and seeing everyone. Bear with and with God's help I will see you all soon. Love to all of you!

It's Salad Tuesday featuring our salad plates with our signature house chicken salad, tuna salad made with albacore tuna, potato salad and pimento cheese. Also this week we have broccoli salad back due to popular request. The special today is our taco salad.
