A few weeks ago, John from John I. Haas, Inc. introduced us via email to the crew at TailGate Brewery out of Nashville, Tennessee. Both of us use several of the Haas hop products and figured we could get together to play with some new products.

So yesterday we had both TailGate Brewery and Haas in the house to create a NOW PLAYING collab beer! This oat-heavy Double Dry-Hopped Hazy IPA features all Haas hop products including Krush, Citra LupoCORE, Galaxy Incognito, Krush Prysma, Dolcita Prysma, and Eclipe Prysma. ๐Ÿคค

We cannot wait to see what these products deliver, but can report that the whirlpool kettle smelled like nothing weโ€™ve ever smelled before! Insane fruit medley aromas!

Thanks to John for bringing us two breweries! Brewing is fun, but itโ€™s even better with friends and new friends!

We look forward to brewing with the TailGate team in Nashville in a few months.

Tomorrow night is BINGO night!

BINGO is from 7 to 9 pm and is free to play. Come play for your chance to win Mikerphone-branded prizes. The final round grand prize this month is a killer painting of Notorious B.I.G. created by Razz Art !

And be sure to come hungry for Greeque will be here from 5 to 8 pm serving up Greek-inspired food with hints of smoke throughout! They will be serving a loaded Greek Mac n Cheese with smoked lamb, pickled red onion and a harissa spiked yogurt. For dessert, a gooey butter cake with cinnamon, orange and lemon!

A couple of days ago, I stopped by Illuminated Brew Works to purchase some of their equipment. They recently closed their doors and are now getting rid of everything. I was able to purchase some hop extracts, a dolly cart, and several half barrel kegs. As Jason from Illuminated was helping me load them into my van, he presented me with their very first half barrel keg. We are excited to get that keg into our rotation and keep it alive!

It sucks to see breweries closing, but it hurts even more when itโ€™s people you know. I got to meet Jason so many years ago, itโ€™s hard to remember exactly where we met. Jason and I bonded over beers and cars, and he helped me source some tanks for our sour program and even put his welding expertise to work on several pieces of equipment at Mikerphone. Itโ€™s hard to see friends like this have to close up shop. They bust their butts day in and day out. They sacrifice a lot to live out this dream, which we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to craft and serve beer. I feel for Jason and the crew.

Please support your local craft breweries, restaurants, shops, markets, and any other small business. Itโ€™s not easy these days. Your visit to the taproom or purchase of a 4-pack at a retailer or recommendation to friends helps immensely. We cannot do this without and we appreciate you more than we can ever express. ๐Ÿ™

To Jason and the Illuminated teamโ€ฆyou are always welcome here at Mikerphone and we will fill that keg as many times as we can. And when the dust settles, come brew some beer with us here!
