Our October dinner is set! On Saturday October 23rd, join us at Grill 89 in Westmont, a casual dining experience from the Ditka’s Restaurant Group. Grill 89’s mission is to provide a diverse menu that is handcrafted and mindfully sourced. They list the farms used on the menu.

Your taste buds might be calling for one of the entrees of BBQ, pastas, fish and steak or for a lighter selection try one of their sandwiches. They also have an option of entrée salads with chicken, seafood or salmon. Check out the details on our website

Don’t miss Delightful Dining’s dinner and music night on Saturday, July 31st at Manhattan’s American Bar & Grill in Carol Stream. The Good Clean Fun Band will be a great way to round out an evening of delicious food and conversation.

We will have our traditional cocktail hour at the bar one hour before dinner. Dinner will be at 6:30pm and the band starts at 8:30pm. Manhattan’s has an excellent variety of culinary selections that fit any wallet. Go to our website to make a reservation http://delightfuldining.com/

It has been a long year and a half. I hope you and your loved ones have been able to stay safe during these trying times.

Our core mission is seeking out good restaurants in the Western Suburbs of Chicago once per month on Saturday night. Delightful Dining is a dining club for single professionals! That’s it – it’s that simple. We like to go out to dinner, try new restaurants together, meet new friends, relax, and enjoy the company of other singles.

Our first dinner of 2021 will be at Adelle’s in Wheaton on July 10th. Adelle’s is an independently owned restaurant featuring American Fare. The menu ranges from Pan Seared Whitefish or Scallops to Maple Leaf Farms Duck Breast to Grilled NY Strip as well as Cheddar Cheese Bacon Burger.

As restaurants work to return to a normal rhythm of service, Delightful Dining has reserved our tables at 5pm and we will not have the cocktail hour in the bar prior to dinner. Also, to better coordinate with the restaurant, our reservation deadline will be on June 29th, 2 weeks prior to the dinner. Adelle’s Fine American Restaurant is located at 535 W. Liberty Drive in Wheaton

All of these plans are subject to change. Space is limited so get your reservation in early.

I have missed seeing you all and the comradery of eating together and sharing stories. I hope you can make it. I for one, can’t wait!

It has been a hard year for live events, restaurants and emotional calm. I want to thank those of you who have continued to be part of Delightful Dining via Zoom. We will be on Winter Break until the Spring. I hope to see you all across the table!

For our March dinner, we will head over to Wheaton. I hope you can join us on Saturday, March 28th at Adelles Fine American Restaurant. Located at 535 W. Liberty Drive in Wheaton, We will sit for dinner at 6pm. Adelles is a warm and inviting independently owned restaurant that features comfort food turned up a notch by owner Debbie Williams and Chef John Anderson. Adelles has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Surburban Live, WLS and CLTV among others. The menu has a few staples like Pork Tenderloin, Meatloaf and Flat Iron Steak with seasonal inspired daily dinner specials

Join us on Saturday, November 9th at Glen Prairie Local Flavor Fine Food & Drink serving contemporary American cuisine, with a strong emphasis on local Midwest flavors and products. Glen Prairie features natural and organic ingredients with the intention of promoting and sustaining the American family farmer.

The cuisine drawn from the great American plains emphasizes hearty meat, pasta and seasonal dishes. Start your meal with fried cheese curds or baby wedge salad, follow it with a sandwich or entrée such as a bison burger, Amish chicken or a pecan crusted pork tenderloin.

I hope you can join us for our next dinner on October 12th at the Country House in Lisle. The Country House is a great place for a relaxed dinner with the feel of a neighborhood roadhouse. They are best known for their “Country Burger”, a half pound served on dark rye.

The Country House has a long history beginning in 1922 when 55th street was just a dirt road. There are now three locations and we will be going to the one in Lisle at 2799 Maple Ave. In the Green Trail Shopping Center.


No membership required but you must make a reservation. Sorry walk ins.

Don’t miss our next Delightful Dining event in two weeks. Be sure to join us September 21st for one of Chicagoland’s favorites, Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse. We will be going to the one in Lombard located in the Westin Hotel at Yorktown Mall. The restaurant has a wide variety of options from hamburgers to Chicken Parmigiana to seafood to prime steaks. They have a separate gluten free menu. Phil Vettel, restaurant critic for the Chicago Tribune once said they have the best Chicken Vesuvio in the City. Remember there are no membership fees.
