The Fourth at Rancho Rio Bravo
Another sunrise over the smoker...
another flag catching the morning breeze.
The coffee's hot,
the wood's talking,
and freedom still smells a little like oak smoke
rolling across the fence line.
I've rode a few miles,
turned a few wrenches,
burned a little meat,
and learned a whole lot about people.
Some stay...
some drift like dust down a country road.
But you keep tending the fire,
because somebody always shows up hungry.
The old pickup still finds another gear.
The horses still know the trail.
The stars still shine over Rancho Rio Bravo.
And this old cowboy still believes
a handshake means something,
a prayer still matters,
and the American flag deserves a little silence before the music starts.
So here's to the pitmasters...
the farmers...
the truck drivers... The Veterans.. The First Responders... The American people ...
wave Old Glory high...
and remember that liberty isn't free,
but it's worth every mile of the ride.
Until the next sunrise...
keep a little wood on the fire,
keep the coffee warm,
keep the gate open,
and keep riding toward tomorrow.
Happy Fourth of July...
We'll catch you on the rebound.
Happy Trails...
See ya at the fence line, partner.
