🎉 FIVE YEARS OF D’S COZY KITCHEN 🎉

On July 2, 2021, we took a chance on a dream.

What started with Danielle’s famous homemade vodka sauce, after Vanessa believed in it and encouraged us to start selling it, has grown into two brands, more than 30,000 guests served, and a business we’re incredibly proud of.

✨ 2021
D’s Cozy Kitchen was born. We started selling Danielle’s famous vodka sauce before taking on our first catering events while both working full time jobs.

✨ 2022
We continued building D’s Cozy Kitchen one event at a time, balancing full time careers with nights and weekends spent catering.

✨ 2023
We began operating Atrium Service at Berkeley College, where we first met and fell in love. Later that year, we opened Berkeley College’s café, became the in house caterers for all four campuses, and made the biggest leap of our lives by leaving our full time jobs to pursue D’s Cozy Kitchen full time.

✨ 2024
Vanessa brought her vision to life by creating The Seasoned Rican, a brand dedicated to celebrating her Puerto Rican heritage through authentic cuisine, festivals, and community events.

✨ 2025 to Present
We stepped away from operating the café to focus entirely on the full service catering and hospitality company we had always envisioned.

Today, we’re proud to be one company with two brands, built from the ground up through hard work, passion, and an incredible community.

❤️ Now we want to celebrate with YOU!

If we’ve ever catered your event, or you’ve attended one where we served, tell us in the comments:

✨ What event was it?
🍽️ What was your favorite dish?
❤️ What’s one thing you remember most about your experience with us?

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every client, guest, venue, vendor, friend, and family member who has supported us over the last five years.

Five years ago, we never could have imagined where this journey would take us.

Here’s to the first five years and to many more memories still to come. ❤️

With gratitude,

Danielle & Vanessa

✨ On July 2, we’re taking you back to where it all began.

Stay tuned for our 5-Year Timeline Journey as we look back at the milestones, memories, challenges, and celebrations that shaped D’s Cozy Kitchen into what it is today.

Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to share it with you. 🥂❤️

This event was a true collaboration between D’s Cozy Kitchen and The Seasoned Rican, bringing together Italian, American, and Puerto Rican cuisine for a graduation and 18th birthday celebration.

We love events like this because we become much more than just the caterer. Our team coordinated the event, sourced and managed rentals, designed the backyard layout, mapped out tent placement, handled staffing, and executed the entire culinary experience from start to finish.

Guests enjoyed an appetizer station featuring fresh empanadas, crudité, and homemade cultural dips, followed by a buffet of Puerto Rican and Italian favorites including pernil, pollo guisado, arroz con gandules, penne vodka, maduros, herb roasted potatoes, and more.

Later in the evening, as the graduate’s friends arrived for the after-party, we introduced an interactive Build-Your-Own Baked Potato Bar along with additional late-night bites. Guests also enjoyed our premium gelato bar and coffee station to end the night on a sweet note.

A special thank you to Jackie’s Sweet Creations for the beautiful décor and cake that brought the entire vision together.

These full-service celebrations are our favorite. From coordination and logistics to catering and staffing, we love helping our clients enjoy their event while we handle the details.

Congratulations again to the graduate on this incredible milestone! 🎓❤️

Just wrapped up a heavy hors d’oeuvres spread for the Nonprofit Professionals of Color Collective event held at Equal Space in Newark.

Today’s menu featured beef and chicken empanadas, chicken and veggie kebabs, cheeseburger sliders, rice balls with marinara, and churros, creating the perfect atmosphere for guests to network, connect, and build community.

This event was especially meaningful because Co-Founder Tyneisha K. Gibbs first experienced our food as a guest at other events we catered before reaching out to have us cater for NPPOC. There is no greater compliment than earning that kind of trust.

It was also great seeing Tyneisha and Dr. Kareem Willis again! We love supporting an organization that continues to create opportunities, connections, and community for nonprofit professionals of color.

Thank you for having D’s Cozy Kitchen & The Seasoned Rican be part of it. We look forward to the next one!

Always a fan favorite. This spread filled with heavy hitter options, like cilantro, lime rice, yellow rice, Tex-Mex beef, southwest chicken, black beans, fajita veggies, corn salsa, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, red and green salsa. Plus, empanadas!

🌈 What a way to kick off Pride Month.

On Friday, we had the honor of attending Garden State Equality’s Equality Ball, where we donated a grazing table and connected with New Jersey State Senator M. Teresa Ruiz, Assemblywoman Carmen Theresa Morales, and Assemblyman Michael J. Venezia.

Then on Saturday, while vending at the South Bergen Pride Festival with The Seasoned Rican, we had the incredible opportunity to meet Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III, Congresswoman Nellie Pou, Rutherford Council President Stephanie McGowan, Sidra A. Razzaq, Jared Lautz, and Julian Jimenez.

What made these moments even more special was hearing that many of them had already heard about our businesses and wanted to personally connect with us. We exchanged contact information, shared our story, discussed future opportunities, and left feeling incredibly grateful for the support.

As LGBTQIA+, women-owned, and minority-owned business owners, having the opportunity to build relationships with leaders at the county and state levels is something we don’t take for granted.

A huge thank you to Garden State Equality and the Rutherford Pride Alliance for creating spaces that bring communities together and make connections like these possible.

Here’s to Pride, community, representation, and the relationships that help small businesses grow. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
