My dad, Robert W. Gardner, flew over 300 missions in Vietnam. He passed away in 2010, and we have a bench at the Fountain of Honor in Enterprise in remembrance of him. It features a B52 in the BBC Air Force section.

The cafe will be closing today at noon so a few of us are able to attend a really good friend/ customer of ours! James will be dearly missed here at the Red Rooster Cafe!

James Runnels, 78, of Milton-Freewater, formerly of Joseph, passed away on January 2, 2026 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. A Celebration of Life will be held at Loveland Funeral Chapel, Enterprise, on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 2:00pm. Casual dress is preferred by the family.

James was born on July 26, 1947, in Baxterville, Mississippi, to Walter Runnels and Lillie May (Napier) Runnels.

After graduating from high school, James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning home in 1969, he married Terry Kelly. Together they had three children. The marriage later ended in divorce.
