Hello Again! Its been a hoot and a half reliving the olden days at the bar and as you recall, the recent chat has pertained to our fabulous food menu!
Let's delve into page 2 today and discuss the ulra cool and tasty Eyetalian Combo Sub...
In order to assemble this beauty, we drove around town for various supplies...
The 8 inch sub rolls were picked up at The International Bakey... their rolls were always fresh!
For the base, The Play Of The Day was a "combo kit" which consisted of a slice of boiled ham. Two slices of hot. Spicy ham and three slices of hard salami...
For the cheese, we stressed on provalone... two slices... which were provided by Curtze.
For garnish, Fresh iceberg lettuce and Roma tomatoes from Larrys Market. In addition, a light layering of fresh cut onion...
Some tidbits about the garnish. I liked to produce the lettuce in a julianne fashion versus heavy leafing so as to not overpower the meats... AND I preferred the Roma tomato because it would finish off the presentation more efficiently than slicing a larger tomato in pieces...
For an added touch, I stressed a light dusting of salt and pepper on to the tomatoes and for dressing, I used a Wishbone or Kraft Zesty Golden Eyetalian flavoring...
I felt it was critical to cut the sandwich in half and jamb some skewers with little frilly ribbons into the halves of pleasure!
A Side of tots or onion rings could make a meal
Next up, we will talk pizza!
