On another page I was asked what did I think of the response to covid in the state and what would I have done differently the following was my response.

Darrell A Langworthy
Darrell A Langworthy So let me Be the first to approach this from a few angles both as a resident of Essex and a small business owner. First my thoughts on the Mandate it didn't render anymore compliance from the people of Vermont. By the time The Governor implemented it We were all ready the lowest in the country and still are as far as spread. Why does that matter well people could see how a mandate was going to change that fact. The other side of the mandate is its not enforceable for the most part thus not gaining any more compliance making it nothing more then feel good legislation. Now Im not against mask wearing I wear one when required to do so, I do how every feel it should be someones choice to do so, Just like it the right of any business to require it. As far as response to the pandemic I would have to say dealing with an unknown it wasn't bad and Im not going to Monday quarterback what I could have done better because truth is no one real knows the answers to that as we still dont have all the numbers that would help you to know that. I hinting at we need some antibodies testing to have a better grip on how many have had the virus, yes I find it hard to believe based on how this virus has spread that less then 2,000 Vermonters have had it the math doesn't make sense. I will say this I dont think the handling of relief money has been done well nor do I think its getting to those in the most need of it. I also cant understand how the unemployment system got so over run and there still Vermonters who haven't received a payment yet. With that said I also don't understand why it took all most three months to realize people were going to need help with food as hunger kills more people everyday then covid does. Heck we started feeding people out of my restaurant with in three days. I feel the issue we need to focus more on are how we get places back open and people back to work. We spend all this time saying how we could have done this better but all that really does is take away from moving forward.

A little update about some Q&A coming up on Monday next week please watch and share and if you have some topics you want to know where I stand on feel free to write those questions below this video thank you.

06/02/2020

So I was going to stay away from this topic but I feel both as a business owner and a person who is active in my community. I think the key words in that last sentence are active in my community. I was a cop in the Air force I know its not the same as being a everyday cop on the streets but the training is the same. I think the events happening around us are just horrible and the loss of life is heart breaking. So I am offering to host a sit down between Law Enforcement, community leaders to help get an open dialog started. I feel city counsels passing policy without a true two sided sit down to hear both sides on the topic and just reacting to the media. Please Help me to reach those who could help us make a change. Let us help Vermont show the country and the world that we can truly come together. Love is stronger than hate
