In the 70s, (actually well before then), scientists said that climate change would cause more extreme weather conditions, rising oceans, melting glaciers and worsening droughts. We hippies took up that banner and for decades now, we have tried to warn people what increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere WOULD do.

Somehow, "I told you so!", doesn't quite cut it.

And now, those same resistant people have elected a president who is deliberately choosing to ignore the problem amid broken record after broken record of extreme events.

Look, I want a better economy as much as anyone. But we don't have to ignore impending doom to do that. In fact, addressing these problem could be.better for our economy than any war or spending cut.
