This 2018 Inceptive is a blend of Rhone varietals Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, aged in a combination of neutral oak barrels, Italian concrete tanks, and amphora vessels.
It was rated 92 points by Antonio Galloni, and 90 points by Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits.
This was dark garnet purple colored, medium bodied, a bit of alcohol heat that may burn off over time, tight black berry and black plum fruits with tongue puckering dry chalkiness with notes of cola, charred bacon meats, to***co and tangy dry smoke.
92 pts Wine Enthhusiast…A heady mix of graphite, licorice, cassis, leather and dried flower converges on the nose of this Rhône blend. A streak of anise runs across the palate, with fennel pollen flavors sprinkled atop graham cracker, black pepper and boysenberry paste elements. —
