Last Market Story π
Going into June 7th, the forecast called for sprinkles, so we prepared ourselves for a slow day. We still made plenty of food, hoping for the best.
Well... the rain never came. βοΈ
And Everett showed up.
Our regulars showed up. Familiar faces walked up to our booth, grabbed their favorite meals, stopped to chat, and in that moment I knew everything was going to be okay.
One of those familiar faces was Nixon and Alyson, who have been supporting us since they discovered us at the Everett Farmers Market last year.
Early in the day, I made a mistake and forgot to include an item in their combo. When Nixon came back, my heart dropped. I felt terrible, apologized immediately, and started panicking a little. But he smiled and said, "You're good. Everything will be fine. We'll still come back to support you guys."
Moments like that remind me how lucky we are. Through our mistakes, lessons, wins, and growing pains, so many strangers have become friendsβand part of the Golden Delicious family.
We appreciate that kind of support more than words can express. We also appreciate the honesty. When customers let us know we've made a mistake, they give us the opportunity to make it right and become better.
From 11 AM to 1:30 PM, the market was busy as ever. We saw so many familiar faces returning to our booth. Sometimes I wish I had more time to sit and chat with every single person and tell them how much their support means to us.
I did get a chance to chat with Joe and Sally (I hope I'm spelling your names correctlyβif not, I apologize in advance π
I'm so bad with names).
I asked them why they keep coming back.
Their answer caught me off guard.
"Your food is good, but we've also seen how much effort you put into this, and we want to support you."
And just like that, my eyes filled with tears. ππ
That's just me being emotional.
As the day went on, our friends and family stopped by, just like they always do. Their support, along with this incredible community, reminds us why we keep showing up every Sunday.
To Nixon and Alyson, Joe and Sally, our friends, our family, and everyone who chooses to stop by our boothβthank you.
Thank you for supporting our small business, believing in us, growing with us, and becoming part of the Golden Delicious family. π
We truly couldn't do this without you.
