Eighteen Years of The Slanted Porch — Fallon, Nevada
Eighteen years ago, we opened the doors of The Slanted Porch right here in Fallon, Nevada — with nothing but a dream, a lot of hope, and probably not enough sleep. Today, we're closing those same doors — but not because the story is over. It's because it's time for the next chapter.
This isn't goodbye. It's more like the smell of sunburns and mi tías inside, grill smoke and beer on a summer afternoon — the kind of memory that doesn't fade, it just moves with you.
Eighteen years is a long time in a small town. It's first dates that turned into anniversaries. It's birthdays, promotions, heartbreaks, and celebrations. It's regulars who became family, and family who became regulars. It's the late nights in the kitchen, the early mornings prepping, the laughter, the chaos, the love that went into every single plate that left this kitchen — and every plate that fed this community.
To everyone in Fallon and beyond who walked through our doors — who sat on that porch, who brought your kids, who came back year after year — thank you. You didn't just support a restaurant. You became part of its story, and it became part of yours.
We're not disappearing. We're just stepping off this porch and onto the next one. Keep an eye out — this isn't the end of the story, just the end of this chapter.
From all of us at The Slanted Porch: thank you for eighteen incredible years in this town we love. Thank you for the memories, the mornings, the sunburns, and the beers.
See you soon, Fallon. 🍻
