It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our owner — our coffee connoisseur, the man with the plan, and the one who started it all — Bill Kennedy.
Nearly nine and a half years ago, Telegraph Coffee & Tap was born, and Bill gave Fallon a one-of-a-kind, elevated coffee experience. His vast knowledge and undeniable love for coffee were the spark that created the shop we all know and love today.
Alongside owning Telegraph, Bill served as CEO and President of The San Franciscan Roaster Company. Building coffee roasters and uplifting the coffee industry were his greatest passions. It was his dream to see an SFR roaster inside Telegraph — and on December 2nd, that dream became a reality. Telegraph is now home to the only American-made coffee roaster in Fallon, all because of Bill’s unwavering drive and his big dreams.
The loss of Bill is beyond words. How do you move forward when a titan falls? He was not only a leader in our industry, but a true legend. Known around the world for his passion, craftsmanship, and deep knowledge, he shaped countless roasters and coffee companies — ours included.
Before his time in coffee, Bill was a teacher and later a principal, and that calling never left him. He had a rare gift for teaching — whether sharing the art of roasting or a story pulled from history — always with warmth, curiosity, and purpose. His wisdom, generosity, and unmistakable laugh touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Bill leaves behind a loving wife and six children, and a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire this industry for generations to come.
We will miss his morning “Well, how are ya?” calls, his enthusiasm for our community, and his constant drive to make our shop the best it could be for Fallon.
We miss you, Bill. Today. Tomorrow. Forever.
