Creamy, melt-in-your-mouth French Toast and crispy, crunchy bacon at breakfast this morning. Then again, some people had scrambled eggs instead, and Greek yogurt for dessert. That yogurt readily doubles as a power facial....trust us on that!

The fire pit has been used and loved this season. Maybe it's the surrounding roses and their scent that draws guests. Perhaps it's the luminous hydrangeas. Or could it simply be the serene peace and quiet?

After work yesterday, we treated ourselves to a top-down Falmouth cruise, visiting the lighthouse, Bourne Farm with its incredible wildflower meadow and farmhouse framed by feathery Mimosa flowers, and we finally ended up at a moody-feeling Old Silver Beach, where a warm but thick fog turned the sun into a blob of blood-orange marmalade in the sky. The swimmers didn't mind one bit!

On Thursday, a couple checked in. Let's arbitrarily call them Frank and Ella. They spent most of their stay in the garden, and couldn't tear themselves loose from it. They told us, it was their perfect spot of peace, a place of flowers, the sound of birds, and warm sunshine that spoke directly to the soul. Even after checking out, they didn't immediately depart, but spent another hour at their newfound favorite place on the planet.
