Good Morning Facebook,
I'm the owner of the Wurst Bier Hall and wanted to clear up some rumors.
No, we are not closing! We will never close while I own and operate the space. The Wurst has been in my family for 14 years going on 15 and I have worked here for over 10 of those years only having left to open and manage Beer & Fish Company.
I bought the Wurst in 2023 and it has been an exciting opportunity for myself and girlfriend.
I listed the Wurst for sale not because our rent is too high (It's actually extremely fair), or downtown is changing, or any other reason you may see online. I listed it because of the changes happening in my family. We lost a child last year and are trying to start a family again.
We plan to open another less time consuming business downtown in the near future. (We love Fargo/Moorhead and Downtown) We both currently work 6 or 7 days a week and minimum of 50 hours and sometimes 100 hours a week.
With everything the Wurst has afforded me in life I wanted to give someone an opportunity to purchase it at a fair price and continue the legacy it has built.
I like to think of the Wurst as a Pillar in Downtown Fargo. We have hosted events for all sorts of people including even hosting someone's wedding! From first dates, engagement parties, company Christmas parties, bingo, trivia, paint & sips, the list goes on and on and I will continue to support the community however I can.
I've worked downtown since I was 14, I'm now 32 and am pleased with being apart of Fargo's community, though I have changing desires and family needs.
So, in summary, if I don't find a party looking to purchase the Wurst, I will continue to own and operate it. Hiring on a chef or general manager to help me ease the load of running the place.
I'm not looking to be anyone's political guinea pig on either side to push agendas. I run a Bier Hall- not campaigns.
I've seen news outlets claiming to have reached out but haven't heard back, this is false and I haven't had anyone reach out to me yet. So this is me reaching out to them to correct their stories.
I just wanted to clear the air and let Fargo's growing community and our wonderful patrons know that we are not closing and we will do our absolute best to keep you happy and coming back!
Prost!
P.S. 1st Ave is under construction again so I recommend using the parking ramp on NP directly behind us and walking in through the back door.
