Big R’s has been welcoming lots of new faces lately, so we wanted to explain why our hours shift during these blistering hot days. The building is old, never had insulation, and doesn’t have AC. We tried window units, but once the new roof required a larger hood motor, it pulled out both the hot air and any cooled air. With staff constantly going in and out, the AC would run nonstop, sending the electric bill through the roof — which would mean raising prices. Adjusting our hours is the only way to keep things comfortable and affordable for everyone.
We appreciate everyone's continued support of our business and understanding as we weather the heat. Stay cool, check on your elderly neighbors and friends and make sure your pets have cool water and refuge from the heat. ✌🔥
