two baristas, one chalkboard, 147 erased drink names, and at least one mild artistic crisis.

The struggle to create the perfect Memorial Day weekend specials sign is REAL over here. One person’s writing… the other’s supervising like it’s a NASA launch.

But honestly? This is the fun stuff. The behind-the-scenes chaos, the laughter, the marker-covered hands, and the team trying way too hard to make your weekend drinks extra special.

So if you see us staring aggressively at a chalkboard this weekend… just know we’re probably debating whether our Tart Cherry Chai "Red White, and Chai" needs more stars around it.

Some people have personal trainers. I have cold brew and pure panic.

I’ve been making cold brew as a hobby for years, long before Buttercup Coffee ever existed. There’s just something magical about the slow process, the rich flavor, and that first sip that makes you feel like maybe… just maybe… you can answer 47 emails, unpack inventory, help customers, run payroll, and survive another day on Main Street.

And ro be fair.… my parents still make dinner for John and me almost every night unless we wander off to Pizza Co. 😀

Between family, caffeine, and pure stubbornness… that’s probably the real recipe.

So yes… I am living proof that cold brew is not just coffee.
It’s fuel.
It’s survival.
It’s a personality trait at this point.

And now I finally get to share one of my favorite little obsessions with all of you. ❤️-J

So your favorite little coffee shop decided to step up.

Should I add fresh salads to the Buttercup lunch menu?

I’ve realized we probably can’t survive on caffeine and sweet treats forever.

Our sandwich menu has been getting so much love lately that I am starting test even more healthier lunch ideas too… because we all work too hard around here not to have fresh, good options for lunch.

This salad experiment has strawberries, blueberries, bleu cheese, and fresh greens.
And yes… I tested it on my husband first like a responsible small business owner. He survived. 😀

This is my new fav the Humboldt Blue. It is roast beef sandwich, with creamy melted Havarti cheese, spring mix, and a wild blueberry drizzle on toasted ciabatta.

Sweet, savory, and just the right kind of weird.

You are welcome to come for just a coffee and stay for lunch.
