We launched my reelection campaign last night at Latina Restaurant in Flint. I’m really grateful that so many great people showed up to kick things off.

Holding it there meant a lot. My friend Tim Sneller spent plenty of time in that space, and he was remembered throughout the night.

You'll be seeing some orange barrels across the county in the next few months. That's why the focus of this week is safety.

Today begins National Work Zone Awareness Week. The theme this year is "Work zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever." Please remember, when you see the signs leading up to a work zone, slow down and avoid distractions.

It's not just for workers' safety, but for yours, as well.
