Heading to Massachusetts Aug 25th to do a Bar-B-Q for my friend Captain Dave Marciano of Wicked Tuna...it's for his son's graduation...will be a good time Bar-B-Q and Cap is getting 100 lobsters for me to steam and grill along with the Bar-B-Q. Also having shirts made up for his party!

Was just wondering how long I have been doing "whole hog" competitions....my very first one was in 2004 at Mayberry Days in Mt Airy, NC came in 7th out of 24 cookers...home of Andy Griffith and what a time it was this was the year they dedicated a bronze monument monument of Andy and Opie I happen to meet Andy he was 78 then. This little town in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the northwestern tip of North Carolina is absolutely beautiful most of downtown looks exactly like the sets on the show. The have a lot of activities for your entire family. There are character actors walking around that look like Andy,Opie,Barney,Aunt Bee among other with prefect mannerisms as the cast in the show. They also have a car show and a parade ...you'd be surprised how many people own police cars from different years of the show. Would highly recommend this if you were any kind of fan of The Andy Griffith Show...this year it's Sept 19-24th
I met some of the best BBQ brothern who have become great friends.

Garden City Golf Club Annual Pig Roast August 17th 9th yr doing it 40lb pig for show and 200 lbs Boston Butts feed 180 guys ...invited back next yr.....always a great turn out for the event! Big shout out to Paul Schrader the Executive Chef for the Club it's a join effort and we make it work every year. The boys eat like they are going to The Electric Chair LOL. GREAT EVENT GREAT PEOPLE! Buddy, once again, thank you for everything you, Nancy and Rich did yesterday for Maddie's birthday party. As always the food was fantastic and the addition of the lamb chops this year was a huge hit. The personal, friendly first class service you provided to our guests and us was great. Working on what date we're booking next year already. Thanks again!!!
