This is why when people ask if community pantries are important, I show them things like this.
Our pantry was filled today, and within about an hour, this is what it looked like before I even had a chance to make a post saying anything was available. We are so appreciative of Valarie Kraus for her generous donation, she definitely helped our community today. ❤️ She also gave me the brilliant idea to do it before and after to raise awareness for community pantries like mine. 💚
Many of you feel it is greed that drives people to clear our shelves, but the reality is these items are being used by people who need them. They may not last long on our shelves, but they are making it into homes, hands, and families in our community.
That might feel a little shocking to see, but honestly, it also shows how real the need is right here in our own community. People are using this pantry. Families are stopping by. Neighbors are grabbing what they need to get through the day, the week, or just until payday. 😌
And that’s exactly why every donation matters.
A few cans of food, a box of crackers, toothpaste, soap, razors, deodorant, shampoo, it may feel small when you’re dropping it off, but it can mean a lot to the person who finds it when they need it.
