To Our Beloved Mom’s Place Family,
We want to take a moment to share something that weighs heavy on our hearts: after much thought and reflection, and making the incredibly difficult decision to close Mom’s Place.
We know we owe you an explanation—because Mom’s Place wasn’t just a coffee shop. It was a dream, one born in my mother’s heart many years ago. The vision was simple: real home-cooked food, served at fair prices, in a place that felt warm, welcoming, and unpretentious. A place that felt like home.
We believed that if we stayed true to those values, and if we poured our hearts into sharing our family’s food with you, there was no way it could fail. And for a long while, we were right. From the humblest beginnings, with hardly any capital but a whole lot of grit and love, something truly special grew. Day by day, plate by plate, Mom’s Place became a part of this community—and this community became a part of us.
Your support, your stories, your laughter over coffee, and your trust in us made this place far more than a business. It became a family. And that’s what makes this goodbye so incredibly hard.
As many of you know, this coffee shop was my mother’s dream—but right now, her health has to come first. After giving so much of herself to this place and to all of you, it’s time for her to focus on rest, healing, and being surrounded by the love she’s poured into so many. We’ve come to understand that continuing to run Mom’s Place at the pace and level it deserves is no longer possible without compromising what matters most: her well-being.
The reasons for our closure are layered—some practical, some deeply personal—but in the end, Mom’s health is the priority. And that decision, while difficult, is made with peace and love.
This isn’t a failure. This was a dream fulfilled. And it’s thanks to you.
We will carry the memories, the friendships, and the joy this place brought us for the rest of our lives. Thank you for making Mom’s dream a reality. Thank you for letting us cook for you. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
With deepest gratitude,
The Mom’s Place Family
