If we don't help them they won't make it. We celebrated with McKenzie and her son and boyfriend tonight. She graduates from cosmetology school because she worked her butt off and we took on the role of a parent, mentor, friend, advocate and benefactor. Every parent that has helped a child in college knows how expensive it can be. Anyone that wants to help us save these kids we would gladly accept any help. Even just eating at the restaurant helps us afford saving these kids. So many of the groups that say they help won't pay one bill. Sometimes you have to do more than talk. Love you all

Imagine being a teen mom and a foster kid. You spend 4 hours a day on the bus taking your son to daycare then getting on the bus to race to school. No furniture, not a lot of food and all bills about to be turned off. You're doing everything you can to just make it another day. Well the success rate isn't great when your doing everything on your own so we made a deal with this young lady, do everything you can and we will pick up the rest. It wasn't perfect, a few setbacks, kids will be kids. Tonight she graduates from cosmetology school . She did her part and the FK family picked up the rest. We got her an electric bike, furnished her house, got her a washer and dryer, paid up her bill and filled the fridge. We picked her up and took her to school and other appointments. We helped we pushed and we didn't leave her or let her give up. When I say we, I mean it took a bunch of us not just Doug and Amy. If you helped you know who you are, Thanks . Congratulations McKenzie you did it and we got you a car... Love you

We post about helping someone and then we get asked to help others. We're trying to help as many as possible. Today a grandma who is living on social security is keeping her two grandkids out of foster care. When I say these two boys were absolutely handsome and smart well behaved. The story though is horrible and I told Amy we got to save these kids. The poor Grandma's husband took his own life and her child dumped two kids on her and she has nothing. She can't afford them but she doesn't want them in the system. Last week we helped 13 get what they needed to stop being homeless. We got lucky a few things came together but we need to help this grandma. Love you all

Can we try something different today? I want to give all the wealthy people a chance to help first. How do I define wealthy or rich? If you have more than you will ever need and if you have kids they have the ability to do the same thing, you're wealthy. The amount of sacrifice and hard work it takes to do that can be quite daunting. I'm not one of those people who think you owe it to anyone, it's yours, you earned it and you deserve to be proud of what you accomplished. The problem is you can't take it with you, yet, give Elon a few more years and he will probably figure that out too. Anyways there is a lot of joy in helping the less fortunate and foster kids and families. We are launching our back to school and summer fun fund program today. I would love it if only the ones who have everything taken care of to help. In the almost 9 years of doing this I have never asked for help like this. Love you all and here is some of the details.
