Cold weather shows up, and suddenly we're cooking enough pozole to feed half the neighborhood. 😂🍲
Brisa and I made our first big batch of homemade Mexican pozole of the cold season, and you already know how that goes in a Mexican household...
You don't just make enough for yourself. You make enough for family, friends, and a few extra containers for people you love. ❤️
Our youngest gave it his official seal of approval. Pretty sure he wore almost as much pozole as he ate. 😂
And honestly, that's part of what makes these little traditions so special. A big pot simmering, everybody fixing their bowls just how they like them, tostadas on the side, and plenty to send home with someone.
🌽 Little fun fact: The word *pozole* comes from the Nahuatl word *pozolli*, meaning "foamy," referring to the way the corn opens as it cooks. This dish has been part of Mexican food traditions for centuries!
We spend so much of our time cooking for others at the restaurant, but we love doing it at home too. Taking care of people through food is just something we enjoy.
This one was strictly a homemade family batch, not a café special. Just sharing a little piece of our weekend with our Waynedale family. ❤️
Now we're curious... **what's that one cold-weather dish your family makes that never lasts long enough?** 👀
