PSA to all small business owners around the;
Spanaway/Frederickson/Puyallup Area
Earlier today, an African American woman was soliciting around our business area for at least an hour. Eventually she approached the window attempting to purchase a beverage. Of which, she originally asked for redbull, but we do not sell. She settled with a sprite and asked for us to serve it in a cup with ice. She then proceeded to state that she was paying with debit, but charged as credit. Said she paid $50 that included tip— on a $3 and some change bill. Insisted we refund her. However, nowhere in our system did it show that any charge was actually taken from her payment. It also did not have a name on the card. She would not give any other detail, nor did she show any proof of the transaction. She threatened to speak ill of our business across social media, etc.
Unfortunately, our cameras did not catch any clear image. We make this post to help spread the word of awareness that there are people out trying to scam our business. She is not the only one of recent to attempt to get money out of us that was not spent. Just please keep your eyes out and minds sharp— be aware of those who are attempting to scam your business, too. Calls and walk ups have been very “popular”
