Happy 🐫 Day!

Six months ago it wasn’t looking to great for me.

In December I was clearing out the storage locker of the shop and met Edner. After hearing about my diagnosis he asked if we could pray.

It was cold, lightly snowing, and almost dark. We joined hands and did just that. It was a very profound moment and I won’t forget it!

My latest scan shows No New Cancer, No Growth. It’s Not in my bones or brain. My heart is the biggest issue. God is good!

I will continue on a daily cancer treatment and do things the doctors don’t like🍁🥃🤟

After many interesting discussions and text with The Children Of The Corn, it has been decided it’s time for me to go back to Sweet Home Chicago in July.

I will be back for visits, and I have to show Wendy & Mike my popcorn secrets.

Thank You to the Team of doctor’s, nurses, and staff of The James. Also to everyone who supported me and my family.

Still trying to figure out a date,time and place to gather for a drink,food, hug, and laughter.

I received an early Christmas gift. The tumor is Completely GONE! There is some evidence in my right lymph node of something and it will be monitored.

The MRI’S confirmed both shoulders are messed up and I will be seeing a orthopedic specialist. PT and gel shots are in my future. I will continue with my treatment.

Hello Popcorn Family,
I’m here with an update I’ve been putting off, but it’s time to be honest (while keeping it as light as possible).

As many of you know, I’ve been in this cancer fight for a while. The latest scans show new tumors in my chest on both sides and lymph nodes that decided to misbehave. And because life enjoys plot twists, I passed another kidney stone—tiny rock, big drama. Consider it a collectible no one asked for.

I’m in palliative care to better manage my pain while I stay on a daily treatment that we hope will shrink the tumors. If it doesn’t, we’ll consider clinical trials. These weren’t the results we were hoping for, quite the opposite in fact. If the tumors do not shrink, and if new growth continues, I am likely to lose my fight to cancer within a year’s time. My next scan is scheduled for December 17, so we’ll know more then.

Through it all, I’m grateful—for my care team, my family, and for all of you who’ve shown up with love and encouragement. My “Children of the Corn” keep me laughing and moving forward, whether they mean to or not. They are cooking up a celebration (more to come) and I hope to see you there. With the holiday season upon us, I’m missing you all a little extra.

I’m still finding joy—small adventures, family time, bucket list experiences, and the simple moments (like the first snowfall, even if none of us can drive in it). Life looks different these days, but it’s still good.
