What is a shaken espresso and a breve? A shaken espresso is perfect for people who don’t want a lot of milk, but don’t love black coffee either. The base of a shaken espresso is two shots of espresso, shaken with ice to create foam. The espresso is topped off with a splash of milk. This drink has a great texture and just enough milk for a creamy flavor, while keeping the coffee flavor as the focus. A breve is similar to a latte, but uses half and half cream instead of milk. This drink is extra creamy and indulgent, with a slightly thicker texture. Breves can be served iced or hot. Which is your go to?

Same ingredients, different ratios. What’s the difference between a hot latte and a cappuccino? Both drinks include steamed milk, espresso, and milk foam. The difference comes in the milk/foam ratio, resulting in unique textures for each drink. A latte features a thin layer of milk foam and a heavy pour of steamed milk. This drink is creamy and smooth. A cappuccino has much less steamed milk, and is mostly filled with foam, giving it a light, dry texture. What’s your favorite?

When you order an “iced coffee”, what drink are you really wanting? We serve a large variety of iced coffee options, all offering unique flavor profiles and experiences. Here’s a breakdown of the two most popular ‘iced coffee’ options. Are you looking for an iced latte, which has a base of milk with espresso? This drink is one of the most popular, with a creamy texture and espresso flavor. If you’re just starting to get into coffee drinks, we would definitely recommend starting with a latte. Another option is a cold brew coffee, which is great if you’re looking for something with less or no milk. A cold brew has a stronger coffee flavor, as coffee is steeped in cold water for hours to reach a bold flavor. Adding a splash of cream is optional to your taste. Happy Earth Day! Looking for a super easy switch you can make to reduce your waste today? Bring your own cup! Our baristas are happy to make your drink in your own mug, and it saves a cup from the trash. Here are a few things Inman Perk does to reduce our footprint and try to be Earth-conscious: we offer agave or paper straws in place of plastic, many of our plastic cups and lids are eco-friendly, as well as our drink carriers, napkins, hot sleeves and to go bags! If you’re planning on sitting inside to drink your coffee, ask us to make your drink in one of our shop mugs, available in all three sizes!
