A lot of our longtime guests still ask about my dad. While he's not always in the dining room these days, he's always behind the scenes. You might catch him at the grocery store picking up fresh items for Yamato or picking up food for his grandkids.
He will still make his secret recipes at Yamato or batch some of the sauces we still make in-house when he has his therapeutic alone time in the kitchen.
In his free time, he's usually spending time with his grandkids, riding his bike, or traveling.
Growing up, we watched him work hard, take care of people, and build something that has been part of Galveston since 1988. We are grateful for everything he's taught us, and for the example he's set for our family.
To all the fathers in our community, thank you for all you do.
