Y'all, I know I look raggedy. And I'm gonna tell y'all WHY I look raggedy, okay?! 😂😭
Woke up at 4:30 this morning, got everything ready, and was prepared to tackle the day.
The air decided it wasn't gonna cooperate. The building reached 85 degrees, and I STILL had to run the oven. 🥵
Got through the lunch special, which went okay, and then the steam table decided it was done with life.
Had a cornstarch explosion. Ran out of vanilla wafers, so I couldn't make nearly as much banana pudding as I wanted. Forgot to buy what I needed for lemonade. Spilled my energy drink ALL over the floor. Forgot to get gas this morning.
Meanwhile, I've been hot and sweaty ALL DAY.
Oh, and my assistant manager, AKA my son, forgot he had an appointment and had to run out on me RIGHT before lunch. 😂
And now here I am, finally getting a moment to decompress after a day full of twists and turns.
But here's the thing. I don't participate in my struggles. I maneuver through them. I hold my head up, I work hard, and I keep going. Because at the end of the day, there's still work to be done.
And I appreciate the people who show up for me. The people who understand what it must take, because they're out here working hard, doing their best, taking care of their own responsibilities, and still finding the time to show somebody else kindness.
Because we ALL have a behind the scenes.
It's not just in the café or in the kitchen. It's in our homes, our families, our relationships, our responsibilities, and all the things we're juggling that nobody else sees. And somehow, we still get up, show up for our jobs, our loved ones, and our obligations, and find ways to show other people kindness and appreciation.
That's what I think about when people walk through my doors and support what I'm doing. I know they've got their own lives, their own challenges, and their own long days. And they still choose to show up for me.
And that means more than I can ever explain.
No matter how crazy this journey gets, I always feel supported. I'm always grateful, and I genuinely think this journey is amazing.
But BABY, it is also very much GHETTO. 😭😂
Tons of fun, y'all and I wouldn't change it😂❤️
