🧙♀️🧹 Apparently, even witches are tired of riding broomsticks.
Word has it that five local witches decided to trade in their brooms for paddleboards this Halloween season.
Something about rising broom insurance premiums, air traffic regulations, and one unfortunate incident involving a low-flying goose. 😂
Anyway, they were spotted out on the water having what appeared to be a rather heated discussion.
And because witches are notoriously loud after a few hundred years of not giving a damn, we managed to overhear some of it.
🧙♀️ Mildred: “I still don’t understand why we couldn’t just fly. My ass is freezing, my cape is wet, and I’ve got a splinter somewhere no woman should ever have a splinter.”
🧙♀️ Agnes: “Because, Mildred, we’re trying something NEW. It’s called paddleboarding. It’s supposed to be relaxing.”
🧙♀️ Gertrude: “RELAXING?! I’ve been clenching my butt cheeks so hard for the last twenty minutes I could crack a walnut!”
🧙♀️ Hazel: “Would you three shut up? We’re supposed to be deciding where we’re going for Halloween!”
🧙♀️ Agnes: “Well, I vote Worton Creek. It’s charming, a little more sophisticated, and I hear they’ve got a lovely Sipping Garden.”
🧙♀️ Mildred: “Sophisticated? Agnes, you turned your third husband into a toad because he forgot your anniversary.”
🧙♀️ Agnes: “And he was a much better listener afterward.”
🧙♀️ Gertrude: “I vote Skipjack Cove! I hear there’s a little more Sass over on the river.”
🧙♀️ Hazel: “Gertrude, YOU do not need any more Sass. Last Halloween you got thrown out of a haunted house for scaring the employees.”
🧙♀️ Gertrude: “Well, excuse me for being good at my job!”
🧙♀️ Mildred: “Personally, I don’t care which one we go to, as long as somebody has a decent cocktail. I’ve been sober since 1692, and frankly, I’m over it.”
🧙♀️ Agnes: “Worton has fire pits!”
🧙♀️ Gertrude: “Skipjack does too. And they have live music!”
🧙♀️ Hazel: “Worton has live music too and a beautiful creek!”
🧙♀️ Mildred: “Skipjack has a whole damn river!”
And that’s when the fifth witch, who hadn’t said a word the entire trip, finally spoke.
🧙♀️ Ethel: “You idiots realize the same people own BOTH restaurants, right?”
Silence.
Not a paddle moved.
🧙♀️ Mildred: “Well, I’ll be a son of a witch.”
🧙♀️ Ethel: “We can go to BOTH Halloween parties. One on the creek, one on the Sass. Everybody wins.”
🧙♀️ Gertrude: “FINALLY! A woman with a brain!”
🧙♀️ Agnes: “Then why have we been floating around out here arguing for an hour?!”
🧙♀️ Ethel: “Because none of you knows how to steer a damn paddleboard.”
And off they went.
Five witches.
Five paddleboards.
Not a single ounce of common sense between them.
🎃 ONE WEEK UNTIL HALLOWEEN!
Whether you’re a little more charming on the Creek or prefer a whole lotta Sass on the River, we’ve got Halloween festivities brewing at BOTH locations!
So tell us…
Are you a Creek Witch or a Sass Witch? 🧙♀️
And somebody PLEASE go check on Gertrude.
Last we heard, she was headed toward the Chesapeake Bay screaming, “I THINK I’VE FOUND THE OCEAN!”
That woman couldn’t navigate her way out of a birdbath. 🤣🧹
