Latte vs. Cappuccino…..what’s the difference?! 🧐
Unless you’re a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado, you probably don’t know one from the other - and that’s okay! We’re here to help. ☕️
👉🏻 A latte is made with espresso, steamed milk, and a small amount of milk foam on top. The milk foam is created through a process called aerating, which incorporates little air bubbles into the milk at the beginning of the steaming process. Once the milk has enough air, we continue to steam to the perfect temperature. 🥛
A latte can also be made iced! Iced lattes include espresso, cold milk, and ice - but no milk foam 🤎
👉🏻 A cappuccino differs from a latte in the amount of milk foam. Cappuccinos also include espresso, and are made with equal parts milk foam and steamed milk, which creates a lighter and airier texture. Because of the milk foam that creates the perfect cappuccino, this drink cannot be made iced!
Long story short? A latte is a great choice if you like a smooth and creamy texture with your espresso. A cappuccino is a good option if you’re more of a fan of foam 🫧
