A little refresh, a lot of history.

Before there was Local Roots, there was Plum Yum Frozen Yogurt & Cafe, 13 years ago, back in 2013, I began serving the lunches that would eventually find their way here, and become familiar favorites for so many of you. Not just our sandwich lineup but the daily lunch specials too.

Lately, I’ve had a little fun giving them a fresh introduction, pairing the ingredients you already love in different ways and choosing names with a story and personality of their own.

After all these years, there’s something special about giving a new chapter to the things that helped you get started.

A few new names, a little southern personality, and a whole lot of history behind every bite.

Because when you love what’s on the menu, you don’t have to change the recipe to turn the page.

Over the past few days we’ve introduced some fresh faces and given a few familiar favorites their moment to shine…. But we’ve saved two southern ladies for our final introductions. 🍅🌸

Meet The Heirloom and The Magnolia

These two have a soft spot for tradition, the kind tucked into a handwritten recipe card, carried to a church potluck, or made so often you no longer need the recipe.

One brings a little garden charm while the other is our original girl, and together they round out our Local Roots cast with a taste of what’s always made us feel like home.

Meet the Heirloom 🍅
She’s a southern garden girl, with a taste for the classics. Fresh, colorful, and lovely without much fuss. She makes a proper lunch out of a beautiful tomato.

Choose your favorite filling - tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, or pimento cheese, and she’ll take it from there.

She has a little Sunday luncheon elegance about her, but she’s perfectly happy keeping you company on a weekday.

Meet the Magnolia 🌸
She was the first to have a name, and the lady who inspired us to name the whole menu.

Gracious, familiar, and quietly confident, she’s our original chicken salad tucked into a golden, buttery croissant. She knows a classic never goes out of style, especially when it’s been keeping such good company at Local Roots.

She’s the southern lady who uses her good china on a Tuesday, remembers how you take your tea, and insists you stay for lunch.

Other personalities have joined the table, but she helped set it.

One has an accent 🇮🇹 One feels like Home 🤎 and one’s bringing three stories of good taste 🥪

You’ve met some sweet ladies and a few gentlemen… But we’ve saved three more seats at the Local Roots table.

Say hello to The Sicilian, The Front Porch BLT, and The Local Club. Bold Italian flavor, a familiar, southern favorite, and a classic stacked high. These gentlemen know how to make an entrance!🤩

Meet the Sicilian. 🇮🇹
He’s bold, a little spicy, and certainly not shy. The kind of gentleman that walks into a room and makes himself known.

Salami, ham, pepperoni, and provolone bring the substance, while lettuce, tomato, onion, and banana peppers keep things crisp. A sprinkle of oregano and a drizzle of vinaigrette give him his signature Italian charm. 👨‍🍳

He’s got a little heat, plenty of personality, and no intention of being forgotten.

Meet the front porch BLT. 🥓🥬🍅
The easygoing gentlemen. He’s familiar, down to earth and always good company. Bacon, lettuce, and tomato… The classic you already love, with a name that feels right at home. He doesn’t need much fuss to make a good impression.

Meet The Local Club.🥪
He’s a classic gentleman with a generous streak, and he believes a proper lunch should never leave you wanting more. 😉

Turkey, ham, crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo stacked between three slices of bread. Familiar. Satisfying. And stacked with personality, he’s the kind of lunch date you’ll happily make a regular thing.

He’s got OUR NAME on him, you know we expect him to make a good impression. 🤩

These ladies may have new names, but you just might recognize a familiar favorite.

Meet The Southern Social. 🦋
She knows everybody. Welcomes everybody, and believes a little variety makes the best company. Your favorite Dab Salad has a new name - and she’s still bringing all your favorite scoops and sides together for a proper Southern lunch.

Choose 3 scoops of your favorite salads and two sides, served with crackers - she’s thoughtful like that. Why settle on one favorite when you can invite a few.

Meet The Garden Party. 🌼🌷
She’s a little fancy, endlessly inviting, and happiest when there’s something delicious to nibble on. Our grazing box has a new name, and she turns an ordinary lunch break into a lovely little occasion.

With savory bites, cheese, crisp vegetables, fresh fruit, dip, and crackers… she brings a little of everything, and makes it all look effortless. She’s the friend who insists even a Tuesday deserves something special.

Two familiar favorites. Two lovely new names. All the southern hospitality you’ve come to love at Local Roots. 😉

He’s Southern to his core, a little tangy, and mighty easy to love. Ham, creamy pimento cheese, and crisp pickles tucked into a soft pretzel bun. He’s the kind and gentleman that makes everyone feel right at home, and keeps you coming back for his company.

Meet The Bramble. 🥐
He’s smooth, charming, and has a sweet side you won’t see coming. Turkey, blackberry jam, provolone cheese, lettuce, and Dijon mustard on a buttery croissant. A little sweetness, a little sass, and just enough mystery to keep things interesting. 

Meet The Orchard. 🍏
He’s crisp, charming, and just sweet enough to get your attention - with a little sharpness to keep things interesting.  sliced turkey, sharp white cheddar, crisp green apple, lettuce, and honey Dijon mustard on a buttery croissant. And if you like your gentleman a little smoky… add bacon

Meet The Mainstay. 🌯
He’s easy going, dependable, and knows a good thing doesn’t need much fuss. Turkey, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard tucked into a wrap. He’s the gentleman you can count on when lunchtime calls - and the one you’ll find yourself coming back to.
