In 1939, Jim and Kitz Masterson were newlyweds when they took over the original Hackney’s business on Harms Road from their family for just $1. Jim and Kitz didn’t just take over a restaurant; they helped build a tradition that would become part of Glenview’s history. And that’s what makes the story so special. What started as a small family business became a place where memories were made, friendships grew, and generations returned to the same familiar tables.
