7/2/26 marks 6 months since the fire.

Spontaneous combustion of "clean" kitchen towels on our dining room table. Caused by left over oil residue in cotton fiber towels - something I didn't know could happen.

My house burning down in the middle of the night was not on my bingo card for 2026. I woke up at 1am to the smell of smoke on that dreadful night & rushed our family out. We tried to extinguish the flames while the fire department came, but it was too late for the old farm house. The flames had already spread through the poorly insulated rafters.

I entered 1/1/26 thinking that we were on a glide path, that everything would charge forward as I had planned. I felt that I had found my footing after all these years. The fates had other plans for 1/2/26. The year of the fire horse charged into our lives in ways I could not anticipate.

Since the fire, we have so many ups and downs. I post this to honor the insanity that life is & the hardship that we still face. I'm eternally grateful to everyone that supports us. You all mean so much to us. It is an honor to get to know you & to be such a part of your lives & you of ours.
