Custard Cottage Scoops Up Success!

This summer, we are celebrating the continued success of Custard Cottage in Gouverneur! New owners Sharon and Brian Brunet are making exciting strides after securing funding to upgrade essential equipment with guidance from North Country SBDC Advanced Certified Business Advisor Jennifer McCluskey.

The timely upgrades have helped the business keep pace with the busy summer season, allowing them to better serve the growing number of customers who stop in for refreshing ice cream, delicious burgers, and the warm, family-friendly atmosphere that has made Custard Cottage a local favorite.

There is even more to enjoy this season! Every Friday from 5:00–8:00 PM, Custard Cottage hosts its Friday Night Cruise-In bringing the community together for great food. Guests can also enjoy customer favorites like their lobster rolls, along with delicious new menu items, including a Linguica sandwich, sweet potato fries, and loaded salt potatoes.

"The SBDC is amazing, and we really loved working with them," shared Sharon.

Their journey is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when passionate entrepreneurs are supported with the right resources. Stories like Sharon and Brian's showcase the power of investing in small businesses and the positive impact they have on strengthening our local communities.
