Here’s the dets:

Earlybird has been a much-loved neighborhood cafe in the heart of Eastown for ten years, offering breakfast, lunch, pastries, and a full coffee menu. As we move into the new year, we are expanding our hours and our identity. We will continue to operate as your local neighborhood cafe by day, but by night, we will expand to include a casual full-service dining experience with a farm-to-table vegetable-focused menu, house-made pastas, and the addition of wine, beer, and select cocktails. Earlybird by day. Owl by night.

Thoughts on National shutdown tomorrow
We opened our restaurants with the hopes they would serve many functions within our community. We wanted to create spaces that felt safe and inviting to everyone and provided not only delicious culinary options, but also places that would foster positive growth in our city and our neighbors’ souls. All three of our restaurants, That Earlybird, Littlebird and Quarantinos continue a tradition of dedication and perseverance to our City’s evolution that follows in the footsteps of our parents and grandparents who were immigrants. People that fled dire situations, eerily similar to today, arrived to this country with literally nothing and contributed to making our beautiful, flawed country into the kind of place we can take pride in. The place our families and so many others have continued to dream of contributing to. To persevere, to make it better. We are choosing to support the Friday, January 30, 2026 national shutdown by staying open and focusing all our energy in support of its effort. We will be donating all sales beyond paying our employees to the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center which is providing legal support to the people in the ICE detention center in Baldwin, MI. We will be feeding our next door neighbors, the postal workers, as they persevere through this difficult cold spell to deliver things of import. We will be open to host continued meetings focused on inspiring action standing against the policies of the immigration and customs enforcement agency and other foes to democracy, and we will provide transportation and support for our employees to participate in any aspect of this and other days’ legal protest action. Our hearts and minds are with everyone struggling to survive in pursuit of this illusive American dream. We will work along with the millions of other small business people in this country to continue the tradition of making it possible for anyone who holds these truths to be self-evident.
