I accidentally gave my chef husband an idea… and somehow that turned into ordering every Cracker Barrel appetizer. 😂 Oopsies! I forgot he rarely backs down from a food challenge.

Let him know if his ranking is spot on or way off. I personally would’ve had cheese curds higher, but I agree about the beignets. Those deserve way more attention.

Apparently my chef husband’s Irn-Bru obsession did not go unnoticed.

The first time he tried Irn-Bru, we had no idea it would lead to this. Watching him get so excited over good food (and I guess also good soda) never gets old.

What’s the etiquette here? If you use a gas station bathroom, do you buy something or just head out?

My chef husband felt guilty leaving a gas station without buying something… and somehow it led us to one of the best chocolate milks we’ve ever had. Has anyone had The Farmer’s Creamery before? We’ve never heard of it and we don’t know where to buy more!

The best way to experience a Michigan summer town? Eat like a local.

Because we love a good local coffee spot, we had to try Cheboygan Coffee Roasters. I ordered an iced coconut oatmilk latte, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it.

If someone was visiting your hometown, what’s the one local spot you’d tell them they can’t miss?

It’s not really a trip to Mackinaw City if my chef husband doesn’t stop at Alice’s Kandy & Korn. They have the best caramel apples, caramel popcorn in town!

What’s your can’t-miss stop when you’re there?

The internet is putting sandwiches inside chip bags, so obviously my chef husband had to find out if it’s actually good.

Spoiler: hot dang… it was KILLER. 😂

I have a feeling the type of chips you use makes all the difference. What chips would you choose?

Eating like a local in Cheboygan meant stopping at Yeck’s Family Drive In, one of those old-school drive-ins that just screams Michigan summer.

Jason ordered the Super Burger and one of their famous peanut butter malts. My Uncle John took one look at Jason’s order and said, “I’ll have the same.”

Tell us your hometown’s can’t-miss restaurant. We’d love to add it to our list!

We started cheering for every float years ago because we figured the people in the parade are out there in the heat for hours, waving and smiling. If they’re going to put in that kind of effort, the least we can do is make them feel like rock stars for a few seconds. It’s become one of our favorite family traditions, and the reactions are always the best. 😂

Consider this your inspiration to become your town’s official parade hype people.

You never really know what’s going to happen when my chef husband walks into a store.

We stopped into The Seasons of Mackinaw (in Mackinaw City), and somehow he ended up giving us all a tour… whether anyone asked for one or not. 😂

You all absolutely flooded our messages with this one, so of course my chef husband had to see if it lived up to the hype.

Mini naan, marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni… cooked over the campfire. It honestly feels like the pizza version of a campfire sandwich.

Keep the campfire upgrades coming because this series has been way too much fun.

What’s the next campfire recipe Jason has to try?
