💚 Since 2007, The Green Well has been one big family. A place where connections, laughter, and memories grew alongside every guest, neighbor, and coworker.

As we close our doors this Saturday, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who has made our time on Cherry Street unforgettable. From the very beginning, it was about family—and that spirit, the community, and the memories we’ve built together, will live on always. ☺️😁

💚 Today, we’re rewinding to 2020, a year like no other! While our other Essecne restaurants had to pause, The Green Well kept the spirit alive. We were doing it all! From countless carryout orders to cozy (and sometimes snowy) patio nights, we made it happen, snow or shine.

Our crew kept busy and creative! Crafting fun specials, preparing holiday meal kits, delivering meals to frontline hospital workers, Chef Jeremy stepping behind the bar to shake up some cocktails, and on Easter, we wrapped the day by sharing dinner together after all the Easter meal kits were out the door! 🤩 The pandemic was a monumental chapter in our story — full of resilience, creativity, and community.

Wow, GR!! You really showed up for us this weekend. 🥹💚 After announcing our last day (Saturday, Aug. 16), we’ve felt nothing but appreciation and kindness from our community. After nearly two decades of serving the West Michigan community, we’ve made the difficult decision to close The Green Well on Cherry Street. As we approach the renewal of our lease, we have opted not to renew. The Green Well has been an amazing part of our story since it opened in 2007. It has become more than a restaurant—it’s been a gathering place, a neighborhood favorite, and a cornerstone of the dining scene in West Michigan. We are forever grateful to our team members who poured their hearts into The Green Well and to each of our guests who made it a part of their lives. As we turn the page, Essence Restaurant Group will officially become Essence Hospitality Group, focusing on our three core concepts: Bistro Bella Vita, Lucy’s, and grove.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making The Green Well a home for nearly two decades. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the Green Well’s final chapter over the coming week.
