🐝 🐝 Few weeks ago I split several of my hives and one of them ended up with no queen. So what I did is took a queen from a small hive. I put this new queen in a cage to protect her from the new hive until they get used to her. It’s pretty fascinating watching a queen-less hive greet the new queen and swarm the cage. In a few days I will let her go in the hive and she will be the new queen. Also don’t worry about the small hive it will take about 16 days and they will make a new queen🐝 🐝

While spring is here I have to check the hives often for a “swarm cell”. Today I had two hives that needed to be split instead of them swarming. Here is a little time lapse of me splitting one hive and making a small hive and a 2nd big hive. Turned one into three hives today.

Friends and family! It’s that time of year again! If you or if you know anyone who has a swarm feel free to reach out I would love to help. That even goes for bee removal. Remember swarms are a positive thing as the hive is growing and they need a new home. Great news I have homes for them and they will be well taken care of. 🐝 🐝 🍯 🍯 🌼 🌼 save the bees!!!!
