I keep saying we are getting closer…every small completion is just that when it comes to ranch living🤪. An hour of work here, three hours there, add in a helper and eventually it gets completed. I started building Chickenopolis last September. August was when the pad was created…well at least what the contractor decided to complete. I had to do the rest after he bailed with my money. So many mistakes made, so many lessons learned, and many corrections have been made. All is good and she is a solid structure, she is functional, and she looks amazing especially with those solar lights at night😍😍😍
Hoping to get at least one coop and run completed by this weekend and the front window installed. Will update with new photos soon. Follow to be in the know!!

Hello Chickie Fam!!

Some updates from the past three weeks on Chickenopolis. The Hubbs “Pony Daddy” is set to finish the last row of the roof today if his helper shows up 🙏🏼. I did build and install one run door, but that is about it since I took these photos. Busy week, but will have a big day of work on Saturday if my other helper shows up.

I have started dismantling the original breeding barn and am reusing the hardware and hardware cloth and chicken wire where needed. Trying not to waste anything. I did purchase a different brand of hardware cloth and I don’t think it is the same quality as my original brand, so I will be updating that information after I look up more comparison information. I thought I was thorough, but am going to double check as it isn’t as stiff as the other brand, which I believe is important. We’ll see.

I do have Sequoia eggs in the incubator for myself and a couple of customers and all have been progressing so far. Can’t wait to see them hatch!!🐣🐥

The company basically took my prior combo of the Mulberry eye pencil as a lip liner and the Mocha Satin Prime Lipstick and turned it into Cherry Noir. I’m just over the moon obsessed. No makeup needed!! And it looks fabulous with silver hair🤗🩶

My first solo rooster in Chickenopolis is Cooper. He met up with his brother Indie yesterday and they were back at one another like they did when they first started fighting for rank two years ago. I can’t believe how much the comb bleeds!!🙆🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️ They will never get along or be able to be in the same yard together. Some roosters simply have to have separate coops and yards.

Both boys are very sweet but Cooper is an amazing rooster. He is fabulous with the hens and is incredibly gentle with my young growouts. He is very special. He has lost toes to losing battles and he is still able to hold up his massive body and patrol like a BOSS. So sweet and so gentle. And it shows in his offspring.

I love his little murmurs of sweet everythings and tiny purring. Happy boy enjoying his personal space😍😍😍
