Yesterday, for the first time since the week I purchased Blair Hill, I checked in as a guest. As I walked through my room last night, I found myself seeing the Inn through a different lens, not as the owner managing the daily details, but as a guest experiencing everything we work so hard to create.
The room was immaculate. Every corner reflected the care, attention, and pride of a team that keeps this property looking beautiful day after day. The grounds were pristine, the atmosphere peaceful, and every detail felt intentional.
Then there was dinner.
I've been fortunate to enjoy some incredible meals over the years, but last night's dinner was, without question, one of the best meals of my life. The talent, creativity, and passion of our culinary team showed up in every course. Beautifully presented, thoughtfully crafted, and absolutely delicious.
Owning a business often means focusing on what still needs improvement, but every once in a while you get a chance to step back and see what has been built. Last night was one of those moments for me. I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude - for our guest services team, our housekeeping team, our maintenance, garden & grounds crew, our restaurant team, and every member of the staff who shows up each day committed to creating an exceptional guest experience.
When I purchased Blair Hill Inn, I had a vision for what I hoped guests would feel when they stayed with us. Last night, I got to experience it myself. And I couldn't be prouder of the team that made it possible.
