NATIONWIDE SHUTDOWN
FRIDAY 1/30/26

Legacy will remain open regular hours!

We recommend paying cash, buy from local shops and support your local community!

As much as we would like to close for this very important day to resist this regime, we also must honor the care of our employees and their need to be cared for as well. We support all who are doing what they can to make a difference!

To quote The Fellowship Of The Ring, J. R. R. Tolkien,
“It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.”

Tomorrow, 1/23 is a big day for many of our community. It’s an opportunity for community to show up (or rather not show up) to big corporations. It’s putting your money where your morals stand.

As a small business, we’ve gotta keep the doors open- as many others are in the same boat. If you have to buy a coffee or a meal- buy local. If you need to buy a book or stationary or paper- find a local bookstore.

Do what you can with what you have. Right now, just about all of us are at capacity. Much of us have carried or are carrying too much- and that is okay to say! We are in unprecedented times. And because we are in such dire circumstances, we do what we can to help one another.

Reminder: our food pantry continues to help our community bc of folks like you.

Stay safe and stay strong out there. 💪🏻

In late 2020, we began stirring the dream of owning our own Coffeeshop, again. With the exceptional help of our dear friends and business partners, Legacy was born!

Five years ago, our kids were in school, we had support systems to enable us to pursue our goals.

Five years ago, we didn’t know that we were disabled and so were our children. We didn’t know of the chronic illnesses that’d develop nor the health scares we would face.

Over the last five years we have built a loving, safe, incredibly loyal and supportive community at Legacy and it has been built brick-by-brick with each and every one of you. We love you.

With that being said, our dreams have changed and so have our needs to sustain our family’s health, we are placing Legacy, lovingly and carefully, up for sale. This hasn’t been a decision we made lightly nor is it something we foresaw coming but it is the next right step for our family.

If you or someone you know would like to buy Legacy and keep its namesake, send us a DM or an email which is on our website that is in the link in our bio.

We love you. To many more lattes, cuppa’s of tea and good company. 💫

It is Rainbow Saturday at Legacy from 9am-4pm.

We have over 10 vendors and all are not only great local folks but they’re makers and creators. Let’s show them some support and love!

Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. 💫

and please tag everyone else who joined in that we missed in this post!

Attention! Today is year 4 of Legacy thriving in Gresham! You all made this possible! As many of you know, we were made to move middle of 2024 and have been just keeping up with the transition and expansion- all good things!

Also, as many of you know, we have had things go sideways or backwards and often not at all how we expected! In true legacy fashion, our morning today began with no power to all of Main Street Downtown Gresham. We sent some baristas home and others haven’t arrived yet for shifts. We are doing our best to catch up and make up for an entire morning of lost time so we apologize for the lack of ease and twist in changes!

Changes we made today to accommodate the lack of folks behind the bar, we are NOT making food and focusing on drinks and pastries.

We will allow you to bring in your tokens this week from Monday-Sunday for your free drink and food.

We know many of you made plans specifically to come to celebrate with us today and we are truly sorry for the change in plans. We hope this change helps accommodate you and reminds you of how much we care about you!

Since opening our new shop location on the corner of Main Street, Legacy has become a place for community and connection. And now, we’re building up both by supporting local working artists.

We’re excited to introduce the Legacy Art Gallery, curated by our friends (Chad Glazener) and (Paul Aguilar). We’ll be dedicating part of our shop to feature local artists to help build a thriving art scene in downtown Gresham! Here’s how it works:

Every few months we’ll rotate in new work from local professional artists. When we launch a new installation, we’ll host an opening reception during Gresham Third Thursdays. You’ll get to meet the artists, hang out with us, and  grab your favorite drink while you check out the new collection.

Mark your calendars for our first reception:
🗓️ Paul Aguilar & Chad Glazener
Thursday, November 20 | 5–8PM

All artwork will be up (and available to purchase!) for about two months.

Let’s keep making downtown Gresham a place known for good art and great community  💛

Legacy year ✨4 ✨

When we moved last July, we planned to have a party. We sold tokens for free food and drink as part of our fundraiser campaign- well, It’s been a minute hasn’t it?! 😅

Much has happened in the last year and a half since Legacy’s move! With that being said, this Sunday November, 9, you can come and celebrate our 4th anniversary!! If you have the tokens you received by donating toward our move- you can redeem them for a FREE food and drink item.

EVERYONE will get to roll a D 20- and if you roll a 20 your ENTIRE ticket will be comped. We are so THANKFUL for the community that has come around us!

Last but not least! The Legacy Gresham food pantry is even more successful than we had hoped for. We have had many comments and questions about ongoing needs so we have listed them below.

- toiletries, hygiene products, boxed milk, powdered milk, alternative boxed milk.

Also, we have made 75 sack lunches since Saturday! Thank you to all who have given and helped your local community!

On this dark and rainy Saturday, here in the town of Gresham, we are ready to give! First sack lunches have been received, as well.

What started as a simple thought, “what can we do to help our community access food?” Snowballed into this- because of course when we have an idea you all help tweak and refine it.

Thank you for your help and, well, everything you see in this photo! We will continue this until SNAP is returned to the people and will adjust plans as accommodations are needed for us and our staff.

Updates for Legacy:

First of all, look at you Gresham, Portland, Legacy community showing up near and far!! Thank you! Our community thanks you! As we were commenting yesterday, yall would make Mr. Rogers and LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow) very proud. 🤝

We are accepting non perishable, shelf stable food and drinks. We will also accept toiletries and hygiene products.

We ask that clothing NOT be brought in because we don’t have the storage or bandwidth.

We have a page full of ways to participate in our lunch sack costs, as well as at the register. Our website has all of our donation option information.

Again, Link is in our bio so feel free to donate, bring in non-perishable, shelf-stable foods any hours we are open and drop the food to the make shift food pantry we have at the back bar of our shop or come into the shop and give a donation at the register after you grab yourself a drink and sammie!

Whew that was alot of info! Last but not least, we are by far not the only ones doing stuff like this! Check out our previous post collaborated and created by who highlights several other local shops giving back, as well.

Happy to be the example Mr. Rogers and LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow taught us to be. 🌈 🤝

10/29/2025

Starting November 1st we will provide free sack lunches.  These are intended for those who are losing their SNAP benefits.  Each sack lunch will have a PB&J, Chips/Vegetable Pouch, and Juice Box.

You will be able to take as many as you need.  Every day we will make fresh sandwiches, and more will be made as we need them.

If you would like to help us purchase ingredients for this, we will have an option available at the register.  Our cost is around $1.75-2.25(item dependent) per sack lunch.

Our back bar is going to be turned into a FREE pantry.  We encourage anyone who has spare non-perishable goods to please bring them in.  We will do our best to keep it clean and organized.  This will be a self-serve pantry.   You will not be judged by what you take or how much.  I will do my best to keep everyone updated as to what we might have available.

As demand grows we will do our best to keep up with the requests that come in.

SNAP provides for over 757,000 Oregonians- it’s necessary financial assistance they need to get food to the table. 24.5% of Oregon SNAP users are households with one or more children. 47% of snap users are female single-parent households. 210,000 of the snap recipients are children and another 130,000 SNAP recipients are over the age of 65, according to ODHS.

If your reaction is anything but love and support for your neighbor and those not as fortunate- we suggest take a walk, then come back to the conversation.  Life is hard.  Grocery prices are up. Benefits have been going down for years. Let’s help one another.

Remember, we have friends everywhere.

You are not alone, we are all in this together.
