Jimmy Cho was our friend.

It’s hard to know what else to say when that one sentence holds so much.

Before service, you could find him having a plate Suda had made for him.
A little food, a little conversation before work.

There were birthdays, holidays, and plenty of meals that needed no occasion at all.
At the restaurant, at home.
All that mattered was the company.

He encouraged us. He showed up.
We were always glad to see him.
We wish we had more time.

In Thai Buddhist tradition, making merit in someone’s memory can include generosity and acts of care.
May we all find comfort in carrying that forward, in memory of Jimmy: looking after one another.

For his family, for our friends at Banana Blossom, and for everyone who knew and loved him.

We hold you in our hearts and share your sorrow.

We’re going to miss our friend.
