The Place Restaurant is a truly unusual outdoor seafood restaurant in Guilford CT where visitors dine outdoors while a crackling wood fire roasts savory clams, smoky lobsters, sweet corn and much more. Instead of chairs, tree stumps encircle bright red tables, decorated with a bottle of freshly cut flowers. One large menu towers over the dining area, allowing diners to see all their options as smi

ling waitstaff come to take their order. Also bring along any of your favorite sides to pair with your meal and make it a truly personalized experience! That’s a wrap! Hard to believe, but it’s the last weekend of our 2025 season. The Place will remain open through closing day tomorrow, Sunday 10/26, and will be back in spring 2026!

Due to the upcoming stormy forecast, The Place will not have extra hours on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day (10/13) as planned. We hope to be open for our regular fall hours if weather permits but please call for updates. Stay safe!

Beginning next week, The Place will have summer hours and stay open later (until 9pm Sunday-Thursday and 10pm Friday-Saturday). We will also have extended hours on Juneteenth (Thursday 6/19) from 12-9pm. Bring on summer!! ☀️

What could be better than dinner at The Place? Dinner and a show at The Place! We have partnered with GreenStage Guilford Live Arts to bring you an evening of free entertainment on Saturday, October 5th from 5-8pm. The GreenStage Experience, a live showcase of performing artists from around the east coast, will be free of charge and our usual menu will be available. This is a very special and unique event - you won’t want to miss it!!

While enjoying the last taste of summer, remember to also savor the flavors at The Place this fall! Starting this Saturday 9/21, we will have modified fall hours:

Monday-Thursday 5-8pm
Friday 5-9pm
Saturday 1-9pm
Sunday 12-8pm

We will also have extended hours on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day 10/14 from 12-8pm.
