It is with very heavy hearts that we share this news with you all.
The Meat Candy family has made the incredibly difficult decision to take a step that we believe is best for our personal lives and our family, and we will be moving back to Indianapolis, Indiana within the next two weeks. This all happened very quickly, and because of that, things will continue to move fast — but we wanted to be transparent and let everyone know as soon as possible.
This decision was not made lightly. Over the last 4½ years, this community has become so much more than a place we worked — it became home. You welcomed us from day one, supported us through every curveball, and allowed us to build something far bigger than we ever imagined. From finishing top-3 locally in multiple BBQ categories to winning Best of Florida two years in a row across multiple categories — none of that happens without YOU.
You’ve watched our small family grow, showed grace through last-minute cancellations, location changes, menu swaps, and everything in between. You trusted us, believed in us, and supported us relentlessly — and for that, we are forever grateful.
While this chapter is coming to a close, we aren’t disappearing quietly. We are planning a going-away party at Truxtop next week, and more details will be shared soon. We would love nothing more than to celebrate with the people who made this journey so special.
We are also exploring the sale of the business. If you or someone you know is interested in a fully operational, profitable, ready-to-go business, please reach out. We are open to selling the business as a whole or parting out equipment including trailers, smoker, and more.
