Now this was a fun one. π
Owner Estel Powell received a call this morning from our good friend Kerry Sutton. He asked if we'd do something special for the family tonight.
Kerry Sutton stopped by with some packaged ingredients he wanted us to put to the test, so we fired up the brick oven and turned it into a family night. The boys had opinions of their own, and you can read every review right off their faces.
Kerry is a realtor with The American Dream over in Valdosta, and one of the genuinely good ones. If you or someone you know is looking to buy or sell, go give him a shout: Kerry Sutton
Now the good part. The star was a fig-and-prosciutto pie loaded with fresh arugula, creamy goat cheese, a ribbon of balsamic glaze, and a slow drizzle of honey. We ran it two ways, one over a rich Alfredo base, one with ricotta and a finish of extra-virgin olive oil. Then we pushed our luck with dessert: a warm garlic crust layered with sweet figs, melted mozzarella, fresh basil, and honey, with a side of house-made icing for dipping. Sweet, salty, savory, and gone in about four minutes, we heard.
We love our local friends, and we love it even more when they roll up their sleeves and get in the flour with us, trusting us with their ideas. Thanks for the ingredients and the good company, Kerry.
From our oven, for our community. β€οΈ This is what it's all about!
