To err on the side of caution: All fresh fruits will be taken off menu until the end of the cyclospora outbreak. Even if our state isn’t a hot zone, I’d hate to see someone get sick from one of our cheesecakes.

Good news is that all of my base recipes using fruit are cooked down to the appropriate temp to kill off any bacteria, so fruit flavors are still on menu! You may just see a non-typical topping and it’ll be delicious as always!

Here’s a gentle reminder of our upcoming meeting with the city council on 7/15 5pm at 300 E Charles St, Hammond, LA 70401-3324 where we’ll be discussing staying at the Pavilion vs moving to Railroad Park. This is open to the public!

Today was a deciding factor for many and even with the surprise rainfall, we still had a great market. I’m looking forward to hearing everyone share their thoughts! (I’m 100% team pavilion. Yes, improvements ARE needed and I hope we’ll be able to make a plan that suits everyone’s needs moving forward.)

This is a lighter menu than normal sadly. Kiddo had a big seizure this AM- focus was on him (obviously). We almost made it two months without one! I am baking tonight, but only to replenish the current flavors (y’all REALLY liked Butterfinger and Lemon Blueberry and I’m already almost sold out!).

🌴 Samoa (caramel deLite) is returning to market this weekend and for weekday pickup starting Wednesday. (Don’t worry-it’ll be a triple batch, so I shouldn’t sell out before 10am.)

📢 Special Market Committee Meeting – Community Input Welcome

The Hammond Farmers & Artisans Market Committee will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, July 15, at 5:00 PM in the Hammond City Council Chambers (310 E. Charles St.) to discuss the future location of the market.

Following the recent installation of the bollards near the Downtown Development District office, the committee is exploring whether the market should remain at the Downtown Pavilion or potentially relocate back to Railroad Park and NW Railroad Avenue.

No decision has been made. This meeting is an opportunity to review information, discuss the options, and hear input from vendors, customers, and community members before any decisions are considered.

The meeting is open to the public, and anyone interested is welcome to attend.
