🦀 Did You Know? The Name “MAKAN” Isn’t Just a Name… It’s Our Family Story! 🦀

When we opened our doors, MAKAN was created using the first initials of our family members:

🦀 M – Mark
🦀 A – Ashley
🦀 K – Kimmi
🦀 A – Avery
🦀 N – Nellie

That’s right—the name on the sign is literally our family! ❤️

What started as a family dream has grown into a place where we get to serve our community, share great seafood, and make lifelong friends along the way. While a few things have changed over the years (and we’ve added a few more family members to the crew! 😉), the heart behind MAKAN has always remained the same: family, hard work, and good food.

So the next time you stop by, you’ll know that every crab we steam comes with a little piece of our family’s story.

☀️ Vacation Notice! ☀️

Today we’re celebrating my cousin’s graduation 🎓 and then it’s off to MAKAN Crabs 🦀 before we head out for a much-needed family vacation tomorrow!

🏖️ The Sparkling Duets will be on vacation through June 19.

🎉🦀 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARK! 🦀🎉

Most people spend their birthday relaxing… but not Mark. Nope — he chose the true Maryland birthday experience: working hard and smelling like Old Bay all day. 😂

While everyone else is eating the crabs, Mark’s back there making sure MAKAN Crabs keeps serving up the good stuff for all of you! So if you stop by today, make sure to wish him a happy birthday (and maybe remind him he’s allowed to take at least ONE break 😅).
