A little surreal seeing ourselves featured in Augusta Magazine’s Best of Augusta issue! 🥹

We’re incredibly humbled and grateful, especially knowing that none of this would be possible without the people who continue to show up for us.

At the heart of what we do has always been a simple purpose: to serve people well and make them feel seen, known, and valued. The fact that we get to make that our life’s work is something we’ll never take for granted.

Thank you for allowing us to do what we love and for making this little coffee shop what it is today.

& a huge thank you to Augusta Magazine for the feature! We’re honored to be included alongside so many wonderful small & local businesses.

Yall go on and snag a copy of the Best of Augusta issue!! 🧡

Wow!!! Nearly a century ago, people were building their lives, chasing dreams, and creating memories on this very street. Now it’s our turn. What an absolute privilege!

Kinda crazy to think that someday, long after we’re gone, another generation will look back at photographs of the Harlem we know and love today… That’s such a beautiful reminder that we’re not just inheriting a legacy. We’re responsible for leaving one, too!!

Thank you The Harlem Museum and Welcome Center Home of the Laurel and Hardy Museum for helping us honor the past so that we can love our community in the present!!!

And on that note… New Street has a few more memories to make this November. Our Fall Market is coming back! 🤎

Welcome back to Throwback Thursday, folks. 🕰

Does this street in this photo look familiar? Well, that's because it still exists in Downtown Harlem! New Street is in this undated photograph.

Our best guess is that this photograph was taken sometime around 1920-1940 (1930s is probably more accurate). Harlem Java House will be having a fall market soon on this very street (now paved!)

What historic events were happening in the 1930s?

We'll go first - Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932!

Picture donated by *checks notes* also Ms. L. Sargent.

isn’t it kind of crazy that we get to be here? like, alive? at the same time as all the people we love??? 😭😮‍💨 ANDDDD we get to share meals, tell stories, drink coffee, laugh at dumb jokes, and make memories out of completely ordinary days~

here’s ur reminder today…

respect the grind, duh!! but pls don’t let life pass you by while we’re all busy trying to figure it all out. this life is more fleeting than we realize! & every moment is precious!!!! spend time with each other!!!!!!
