Meet Chef Sam! ๐๐ฎ
Chef Sam was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was trained in culinary with Chef Roger Mallet of Aix au Provence France in French cuisine, he served as Sous Chef and later under Chef Rene Debon in Continental cuisine. Sam attended the Culinary Institute of America for 5 culinary intensive classes for professional chefs as part of his training program.
Sam moved to the area of Shenandoah County in 1987 to be the Corporate Executive Chef for Wayside of Virginia, which at that time, owned the famous Wayside Inn in Middletown, Virginia. He went on to own 3 different restaurants including the iconic Hi Neighbor Country restaurant in Strasburg, Virginia.
Sam then went to the Delaware North Corporation as Food and Beverage manager and Executive chef of Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway Bedford, Va. After that, Sam moved to the New York City area to work as the Food and Beverage Manager at Breezy Point and Silver Gull Beach clubs. Later, he went back to Delaware North/Patina Restaurant Group as a property closing Sous Chef at LaCucina and Company Rockefeller Center.
Eventually, he moved to Harpers Ferry to work for The Clarion Inn as Executive Chef and then to River Riders Family Adventure Resort to take up the role of Food and Beverage Manager.
Sam is a well seasoned culinary professional well schooled in a number of cuisines with many years in leadership roles. He enjoys frequent travel to get exposure to new ideas and concepts of culinary ventures.
